The lesson I learned today is that Satan is an incredible liar. “You’re not good enough.” “They don’t need you anyway.” “You will always be an outsider.” “You don’t deserve happiness.”
These are lies because my God is a God that loves me and created me just the way I am, but I find myself believing in these lies because it’s easy to pity myself and give up on God when life gets hard and He just seems so far away. It’s easy to stop hoping and simply believe that things will never change, because hoping often leads to disappointment, and disappointment hurts.
But my God is a God who saves. When Jesus died on the cross for me, He freed me from Satan’s grip once and for all. In the name of Jesus I have the freedom to declare that Satan’s lies no longer have a foothold in me. All I have to do is turn to the cross and see the truth. “In God I am good enough.” “I have been bought with a price.” “The creator of this universe loves me.”
